8. Was this official really the head of a government "agency"?
I don't want her to be able to say "well he's the head of (blank) agency".

In other words, is there a way for her to explain the gaffe away, or did she just fuck up.

Meridor is indeed a former chairman of this agency, and she must have picked this up somehow.

However, as he's been ambassador for at least 3 years now, Palin is as always showing her complete cluelessness. Meridor should have replied with, "And I hope you are enjoying your work as Mayor of Wasilla!"
