McCain can kiss several more days of precious news cycle goodbye...
...this is HUGE.

Ted Stevens is the senior Republican member of the Senate. He's a congressional institution.

He's also a Republican.

He also comes from the same state as John McCain's running mate, and they even (according to my copy of Esquire) appeared together as a sign of support before his indictment. If she defends him, she'll look like a sleazebag; repudiate him, and she'll be a hypocrite. I'm guessing she'll say nothing at all...

THIS is the October surprise. And yes, it's been said before, but I must say it again: MCCAIN IS NOW OFFICIALLY TOAST.

2. You may be right
but I also heard that Stevens and McCain hate each other.

But yes, this story and the terrorist plot against Obama, will suck up another day or two of news cycle. McCain would rather be talking about Obama's cerebral remarks on the NPR interview from 2001.

it could have been ANY senator. But it is the Alaskan Senator who Palin palled around with. Jayzus. It couldn't have been scripted any better for a final week meltdown.
