his seat in the US Senate and making her bid for prez in 2012??

2. Stevens is republican, he has no plans to resign
Republicans don't resign even when convicted. Democrats resign even if there is a hint of wrong doing.

even if she could appoint why would she cut short her Governorship to have 10 weeks in the Senate?

5. I don't think she could do that.
Maybe she could get her Lt. Governor to promise to appoint her if she resigned and let him take over as governor. Then the people could all get upset about it and then oppose it and she would be out of a job - no longer gov and not a senator.

I like that scenerio. :evilgrin:
