Al Franken in the morning and phone calling in Minnesota's 6th District at night
Edited on Mon Oct-27-08 08:00 PM by wellstone dem
What a day, I started out with a rally featuring Al Franken. He did great, passionate, from the heart. He is doing everything he can to win back Paul Wellstone's seat. I wore my Wellstone button.

This evening I called about 80 households asking them to support Barack Obama. Mixed results, did fine, a couple McCain supporters who were also supporting Tinklenberg which bodes well for his campaign. (Barack will do fine, he will carry the Twin Cities big.)

My favorite call was to a woman who when I said, "I'm calling in support of Barack Obama." said, "Oh,I've been waiting for someone to call. My husband is so sick of me talking about how much I want Obama to win. My kids are sick of me. I've just been waiting for someone to call so I could tell them I'm going to vote for Barack Obama. It is history. I can't wait to vote." She then went on to tell me about a call she had gotten from the red cross trying to schedule her husband to give blood. She talked to that person about voting for Obama and was debunking rw talking points such as Michelle Obama hates whites. She said, "I kept her on the phone for nearly 30 minutes." It took me 15 minutes to get off the phone myself, but as I told her, "You made my day, and gave me the energy to keep calling."

Thanks to all who donated to www.tinklenberg08.com You are making a difference.

2. one little kick because I'm not the only one working hard
Because I've gotten calls since I got home from the local Democratic party and from El Tinklenberg. People are working so hard.

3. I'm not in the 6th, but a nice person from the Franken campaign phoned me last night.
I used to phonebank. It can be a tough job.
