Witnessing history
The past few weeks will go down in the history books for the economic crisis that has gripped the entire global economy. Just this morning, I heard a news report about how Dubai was even suffering the effects of the global downturn - even Dubai! Last night, listening to CBC radio, they had a program entitled - the game changer. This was about the global economy and how it has affected americans, canadians, mexicans and pretty much everyone else. This is the stuff of history.

It is also the stuff for the history books how a black senator will become the first president of the United States. I cannot vote, but am watching closely - as is the rest of the world, I guess. We have no delusions - Barack Obama cannot turn around the global crisis overnight. However, you americans - I am speaking to you now - you can witness history, like the rest of us, or you can be an integral PART of history and VOTE.

If I was a sports fan, I would say that wearing a jersey to a game would indicate that the spectator had dreams of not just watching, but playing the game.

In the political world, this is your chance to play and have a role for the history books. I'll be watching, as will millions of others to see which "team" wins. But I know at the end of it all, it comes down not to Obama's oratorial skills, or McCains vast experience - it comes down to you. Now is not the time to just trust your neighbors to do the right thing. Now is not the time to just assume that Obama will win by a landslide, and allow apathy to determine whether or not you will vote. Be a part of history - and this is a historic election by all accounts. VOTE! Let's push for a new record for the history books - the highest turnout ever.

Good luck gang. I am stating this early and will be silent for the next few days.

4. Yup. This time it's not enough to simply vote.
We need to make sure our neighbors and fellow citizens vote too.

You go, LNP!

3. I voted for Obama/Biden yesterday and was
completely aware of the historic vote I was making. I'm so proud of this country, and I think Barack and Joe are going to have a landslide victory. We so deserve the change that's coming here and around the world. So damn exciting I can't even believe it.
