By the way, is everyone aware of what the day before Obama's Inauguration is? |

1. Yep. I posted that a few weeks ago... |

I think it's an omen, if you believe in that sort of thing.
Also, Election day is my 49th birthday, and 49 is a 'fortunate' number (7 times 7).

is my birthday. I will have a far better reason than usual to party - - "end of an error" style.

Coming out of the dark ages!
That will be phenomenal. I want to book a room in DC, are they all taken already?

My church choir is one of four choirs invited to sing at our local Martin Luther King Memorial Breakfast. Each choir is going to select one song, and all four choirs will perform each song. Being part of this is a huge, huge honor for me, and I was already trying to figure out how I was going to control my emotional self. I don't cry "ladylike", I wail, snort and get all messy. Once I realized it was the day before Inauguration Day...and Obama is going to be the "Inauguree", I realized it was hopeless. I'll just have to pack as much kleenex as I can and try to find really, really, REALLY waterproof makeup.

The change in attitudes I've seen over the last 35 years has been amazing. When I was little, the "N" word was used commonly, although NOT in my home. My parents forbade it. They loved Kennedy so much, and now I think I understand. I hope Barack is really channelling that energy. We were knocked off the rails when Kennedy was shot; now we can make it right again.
