I am about 98 percent confident that Obama is going to wipe the floor with McPissStain, my only "concern," (heh) is that those weird voters will come out of nowhere, like on election night 2004 -- you know, the ones that gave Bush the win and the popular vote tally. I talked to my friend today and he said there's no "Karl Rove" ground game like there was last time and that no way that will happen.
Assuming that those really WERE voters and not election thievery (which a lot of it may have been), is anyone else thinking about this, this time? It's my last shred of nightmare that's keeping me from buying a case of Perrier-Jouet (even though I'm broke -- this will be a SPECIAL occasion) and calling out work on Wednesday.
My friend triple assured me that the McCain ground game is not there -- do any DUers with on-the-ground radar have some anecdotal or otherwise evidence to back that up?

1. I think you need to be prepared for a stolen election. |

If you're paying attention you'll find that they ARE doing everything they can to steal this one, too. I would be prepared to get to the nearest large city and raise bloody hell. If we don't, then we deserve the outcome.I'm not saying that this is a sure thing, just be prepared.

4. I have been paying attention |
|
And that's why I have my eyes on the megachurches -- they could be the ones to make it "close" enough to steal.

7. Bits and pieces will be stolen, of course... |
|
...but turnout and Obama's charisma will swamp the theft this time, I think.
I hope.

2. I totally get where you're coming from... |

BUT, there hasn't been any of the "be very afraid of all the gays and terrorists" that BushCo. was spewing in '04. McLame can only manage "socialist" as a slur, and the drooling base doesn't even know what that word means, so I don't think it's catching on. Living in the south, I still fear some impact from the closet racists.
We just have to keep up the good fight!

I feel like there WILL be some surprise voting bloc, but I think it could be equally good for Obama. I just remember hoping hoping hoping last time, and having what I picture like those hammers in "The Wall" -- but a bunch of fundies marching off of a bus with crosses or something. And yeah -- how much of an asshole do you have to be to buy into the "socialist" thing?
