Poll: Florida too close to call
A new poll released Wednesday finds Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama leading Republican opponent John McCain in three key swing states, including Florida.

With less than a week to go before Election Day, Obama has leads in Pennsylvania and Ohio, according to Quinnipiac University's Presidential Swing States poll. But in Florida, the state that decided the 2000 contest between George W. Bush and Al Gore, it's still "too close to call," the poll finds. Obama leads McCain in the Sunshine State by a margin of two points: 47 percent to 45 percent ...

2. Shame us Floridians can't give Right-Wing Hicksville (Jacksonville) to Georgia.

They'd vote for a mass Murderer, child abuser, Drug addict, Wife-Beater as long as the person was repug.

You think I'm kidding ?...I'm Not...

Nearly everybody in Florida hates Jax because of the idiots there...

10. We should give everything west of the Apalachee River to Alabama!
It's solid red and pretty scary over there. And that would put my MIL in a different state.

But we need to keep Leon County in Florida - it is solid blue!

12. Very True :) ..You know Florida would be a permanent "Blue" if it wasn't.
...for the very Northern part of the State. :)

3. The thing is, we don't NEED Florida this year...
It would be great to win it, but hold on to PA and grab either VA or CO, and it's pretty much in the bag.

4. I want him to win WITHOUT Florida
"See, for all the grief you have caused us in the past, we don't need you anymore."

That would be a sweet victory.

5. Oh, *that'll* work out well.
:eyes:

But I think more Floridians will actually get to vote this year, which will make the difference.

8. We've been working our hearts out here in NE FL...
but we only have just so much to work with. I was driving home today and saw about 15 McCain bumper stickers to my one Obama. It's disheartening to say the least...just be glad you don't live here. I always felt like we were more south Georgia than north Florida.

11. Hang in there. It must be tough living in such a red area.
I feel spoiled living in CT. We may get slammed as being "New England libruls" but we are solid blue, never get harassed by crazy right wingers, have a decent Rethug governor who is very moderate (would be considered a Dem in most of the rest of the country, and a pretty good voting system.

13. Yes, and I feel for you. I know it is tough over there.
Some of the staffers pulled from Georgia stopped over her in Tallahassee before heading over there, so I know you got some good help. But you have a hard fight - nearly as bad as west of here in the ultra-red Panhandle.

I think you are making a difference, though!

9. Florida not necessary for a win, thankfully
Frankly, given the history of that state, any democrat planning a national election should use their resources to ignore that state and win others. Obama I think has done that

I hope Florida makes it through this election without too much trauma and drama.

15. It sucks given his lead was +5 there in their last poll, but given all the other polls and that he's
still in the lead in this one, I'm optimistic.
