McCain-Palin Campaign Snubs Penn State Prez
A McCain-Palin campaign official snubbed the president of Penn State University who inquired about attending a campus speech Tuesday by Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, university officials told ABCNews.com.

"He's a big Democrat. Why would he want to meet Palin?" campaign aide Russ Bermel allegedly asked a school employee who was hoping to make arrangements for president Graham B. Spanier to meet Palin, according to Spanier's office.

The McCain-Palin campaign has been working overtime to become competitive in Pennsylvania, where the Obama-Biden campaign has enjoyed a double-digit lead in the polls.

Some might say that makes it an odd time to snub the president of the state's largest university. The school enrolls 40,000 students and counts a quarter-million alumni living in Pennsylvania alone.

"I welcome eminent visitors to our campus everyday, including lots of Republicans, but didn't want me to greet her or even attend the event," said Spanier.

1. Did somebody TEACH these people to be stupid, or is it just inborn?
Honestly, watching the McNuts campaign has become almost as funny as watching Comedy Central! They've gone WAY beyond foot in mouth!

2. That's bad news for McCain. Jay Paterno is a huge Obama supporter.
And there's a lot of kids at PSU who will be voting on Tuesday. LOL.

10. Is Paterno really an Obama supporter? He's a really strict Catholic.
I figured he'd be supporting McCain. If he's behind Obama, that's really great news.

13. It is NOT Joe Paterno backing Obama...it is his son, Jay Paterno. Link below:
Republican JoePa's son backs Obama

Penn State quarterbacks coach Jay Paterno, a son of head coach Joe Paterno, is backing Democratic Sen. Barack Obama.

Joe Paterno is a friend of President Bush, and his son Scott is a Republican who unsuccessfully ran for a congressional seat.

"I brought my kids up to think for themselves since day one," Joe Paterno said. "... It's interesting. I got a son who's a Republican, who ran for Congress, Scott. I'm a Republican. I've got a son, Jay, who's for Obama. I've got a daughter, who I'm pretty sure she's going to be for Hillary. So God bless America."

But in the end, Paterno said, "I didn't want to get into that because of my situation, because I couldn't vote for either one of them because I'm a Republican." He later declined to say whether he was supporting Sen. John McCain, the presumptive GOP nominee.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

6. This red/blue division shit is painful
Roveco brought it to us in 2004, and McCain is hyping it to the next level this time around. Us vs. them. Socialists vs. America. Marxists vs. America. Anti-America vs. Pro-America.

And we're seeing the results of it: Signs that portray Obama has a terrorist Muslim. People in Starbucks getting outraged by idiotic strangers. Road rage because of bumper stickers. I end up getting in an argument every time I see my Granddad because Fox News is bringing more bullshit lies into the conversation.

I wonder what the Repukes will bring in 2012 (or 2010 for that matter.) I can't imagine it becoming any more hyperbolic than it is this year, but I thought the same thing about 2004.
