Why does new CNN poll get more press than the last?
The first one, from just six days ago, conducted with Time Magazine, showed Dean within 5 points of Bush and Clark within 10. Now, the new one, conducted with the more conservative USA Today and Gallup, shows Dean 22 points behind, and plays up that Clark is "closing the gap" between him and Dean gets a hell of a lot more press. And the only excuse for the difference has been (no joke) that less Republicans will be voting for Dean now than from six days ago. What is this crap?

5. It was reported on Inside Politics when it came out
Then an article appeared, but the spin was that "Bush handily defeats all Democratic opponents." That's the kind of press it got.

6. I was just at the opthalmologist's office and read the latest
issue of Time Magazine.

the 46-51 pie chart was in the main article, larger than life!

Things appear differently in real life than they do on the Net.

8. Why Does the Percent Total = 102%
Edited on Wed Jan-07-04 02:44 PM by HFishbine
All of the previous CNN/USA Today/Gallup polls total 100%. This latest poll totals 102%. Who's getting an extra 2 points?

(on edit: Specifically, the dem preference question.)

9. I haven't noticed any difference in the coverage.
I think the difference may be your view of the poll results.
