1. I read the Economist sometimes and they are conservative |
|
They have very interesting articles however and they have some very strong reporters
I just wish they'd stop qualifying their error in supporting the Iraq war.
economist: While it has been proven that Iraq had no WMD's and the war has been a failure. The evidence that Sadaam Hussein had WMD's was overwheliming at the time.
Their acknowledgement sounds so much like DUH-bya.

Oh, they have flaws galore. Believe me, while I read it regularly, I take what they say with a rock of salt. But they are reasoned, thoughtful individuals--they give no credit to individual reporting, so one must speak generally--who are usually refreshingly non-dogmatic in their outlook, which is decidedly moderate-conservative. Except when it comes to the U.S., where they seem blinded by the nature of and rise of Movement Conservatism.
Yet however one feels towards the Economist, it is THE most influential foreign publication when it comes to U.S. affairs, both domestic and foreign. (Indeed: likely more influential than some of our major domestic papers.) Thus, their endorsement of Obama is highly significant.
