Are We forgetting what the Republicans did in the past eight years? |
|
Edited on Fri Oct-31-08 10:21 PM by political_Dem
I am beginning to wonder whether the Democrats are opening the door to disaster with all this hand extending to the Republicans. Centrist or not, we can't forget how the Republicans have screwed over the Democrats in the past. I have never heard a Republican (even now) do the same for us. In fact, they continue to malign us in the press and among their followers.
Don't we have to keep our guard up? I'd like to know what other folks are thinking.
Edit and question: I doubt there has ever been a case, but if anyone can come up with a Republican who has extended an open invitation to Democrats to work with them in the same manner, I would honestly like to know.

1. Hand-extending is necessary, imo, |

vis a vis making policy and legislation, NOT when it comes to winning elections.
As he said, "We seem to be winning," so I think we're OK, but MUST BE ON GUARD vis a vis elections. GOTV!

2. Fair enough. I agree when it comes to policy. |
|
But I still have never heard of a Republican ever being so welcoming to Democrats. Not even Reagan--and he was once a Democrat.
