Drudge: Tonight's Zogby poll will have Obama +7 |
|
Edited on Fri Oct-31-08 11:28 PM by blitzen
"ZOGBY SATURDAY: Republican John McCain has pulled back within the margin of error... The three-day average holds steady, but McCain outpolled Obama 48% to 47% in Friday, one day, polling."
key phrase: THE THREE-DAY AVERAGE HOLDS STEADY
As Nate Silver points out on 538.com, the Friday numbers are not even a "one-day" sample, since Zogby splits his one-days into two, and most of the latest "day's" sample was taken Thurs.
In short, Drudge is doing some hyper-cherrypicking to find what he wants to find.

I'm referring to the part that says "the three-day average holds steady." If that is so, then it will be +7, since that's what the three-day average was last night.

+5 and +7 are statistically the same given the margin of error

11. yeah, that's true.... |

if you look at the graphs for October, Obama is steady around 50, and McCain is, at his best, around 45. It's pretty safe to say that Obama has a pretty solid lead of at least 5 points.
