Why is McCain convinced that everyone hates pork barrels?
Isn't this funding for state projects exactly what the locals HOPE their reps will bring back?

I agree that the methodology is all wrong - the way that funding gets slapped into bills that have nothing to do with the subject. Can't the method be changed, but the funding continue?

Is all pork barrel funding wrong?

1. I'm still waiting for him to point out the amount of pork Palin's state
has taken in, and how she was on his list of worst pork offenders. We never seem to hear about that.

I wonder how much money Alaska would get if McCain actually became president?

2. Cause he's the decider and everything is what he says it is......
Remember, he knows how to do stuff. he knows how to get it done.

3. Buzzword for the republicans. News doesn't help. In our state they just say it is federal
funding. They leave out that it is AKA an earmark!

4. Because he's secretly a Muslim.

No, wait.

He's secretly a vegan.

Yeah, that's the ticket.

He hates pork barrel because he's vegan!

5. I'd go so far as to suggest that it's what keeps getting many incumbents reelected
It's the glimmer of hope that their congresscritter will bring home the bacon with some juicy federal contract or ginormous construction project that gets a lot of reps - both good and bad - reelected term after term.

Not that there's anything wrong with much of that. These projects will be put someplace, so it's understandable that people want their reps to do all that they can to secure that it happens in their district.

It's just further proof that McAnus has a tenuous grip on reality, along with the hubris to imagine that he alone possesses the truth. He simply lacks the ability to figure out how others see things. Otherwise, he'd have stopped telling those godawful jokes years ago!
