He said that it's OK to wear Obama gear such as a t-shirt or hat, that as long as you don't have pro-Obama literature in your hand (paraphrased). That's FALSE, isn't it? He ALSO claimed Obama went from saying he'll lower taxes on people making $250K to $200K to $150K and now to $120K! Is he allowed to lie like that on C-Span without the host correcting him?!

1. well i definitely have heard of cases
where people were denied entry because of clothing...
but im not sure if this rule depends on the state or if its a federal deal...
im sure you could find election laws on a website real fast if ya do a quick search

3. Depends on the locale, I believe. It is generally better NOT
to wear anything that announces who you will be voting for, just in case. I plan to be working the polls that day to make sure that people aren't turned away; that they need to simply put on a jacket, or remove the hat, or whatever.

I DO NOT trust the other side to do the same. I expect they will tell people that they can't vote at all.

4. Who was the host? If it had been Bryan Lamb, he would have corrected ...
The other hosts, unfortunately, aren't as up on
their election protocol obviously.

10. OMG, that's Robb Harleston ... I know his cousin ... he should know better
Edited on Sat Nov-01-08 03:25 PM by LSparkle
His cousin is a lawyer who worked on the Iran-Contra
investigation ... I respect him more than some of the
other C-Span hosts and I would have thought Robb would
have known enough to correct the guy ... If not
specifically, then in general. We should all avoid
anything that even MIGHT be considered "electioneering"
and even wearing a t-shirt or a button might cause
problems ... DON'T GO THERE!

7. Depends on the state. I don't know what the rules are about wearing campaign clothing.
When I early voted in NC, I saw people with small Obama buttons on, but no one said anything to them about it.

8. OK. I just looked it up and it IS allowed. I found it on a site debunking voting myths in NC.

9. He's Right. You can wear Obama shirts to the polls here in NC
You can't in South Carlina

11. Cafepress has put out a statement that
Edited on Sat Nov-01-08 03:29 PM by zidzi
we may be turned away for wearing political gear to the election polls. Said it could be classified as "electioneering".

I don't think this asshole on c-span is going to lie about everything else concerning Obama and not lie about the Obamawear.

If it weren't so tragic it would be hysterical the way they're trying to cheat from every which way.

And, anyone who supports these candidates is endorsing lying and I wouldn't trust them in my life.

12. It depends on the state but if it were me
I'd wear it and if they object, take it off right there and turn it inside out. (As a woman I'd wear a sports bra underneath but it would be worth the momentary shock to take the shirt off)
