What time did the various networks call the election, and the various states, in '04? |

Anyone knows where I can go to find such information?

2. Actually, I don't think anyone (except maybe Faux) called the election... |
|
When they went off-coverage early Wednesday morning, the consensus was that it was all going to come down to a recount and possible lawsuits regarding Ohio, and that no one would know the winner for days or even weeks. Basically, the equivalent of calling it took place mid-morning, when the Kerry campaign announced he would be giving a concession speech that day.

3. Well, the exit polls and vote totals agreed at around 11 pm, 51 Kerry, 48 Bush |
|
Then the vote totals diverged sharply from the exit polls. Kerry DOWN THREE. Bush UP THREE. A shift of SIX POINTS is statistically almost impossible, but the networks did their best to engage in tortured arguments about how the esteemed polling company used to evaluate the fairness of elections in other countries, had somehow failed in this case.
For great TV footage from election night 2004, please see the free download

It made me cry because I remembered being so hopeful that the days of the Abu Ghraib administration were ending and then being devastated when the many incidents of voting anomalies being reported from swing states were ignored or brushed aside as "too small to affect the outcome" and Kerry was pushed to concede too early. Yes I know, Kerry conceded later than many, but FAR TOO SOON for the amount of uncertainty the results contained.
But the EXIT POLL DATA WAS ADJUSTED LATER to make it match the vote totals! Something we would never have accepted in watching another country's election.
Yet moderate Democrats told us to just let it go and stop bothering with our conspiracy theories, many of which were later proven true.
Check out the calm comprehensive documentary, Stealing America: Vote by Vote, link above. Lots of info without too much drama or pontificating.

4. I was watching from a hotel in Seattle. It was fairly late as I recall. |

I believe I heard that Kerry was conceding before I went to sleep.

6. I remember MSNBC called it around midnight here. |
|
When Ohio was at 99% in and Bush's lead looked too large, they called Ohio and thus the presidency for Bush.
