Tweety: McCain Should Be Given Nobel Prize.....jessssus!
Perhaps I should have had more than one drink before dinner.

Matthews has always been a pathetic, over-paid analysis. He can be sucked into anything. I would have a harder time manipulating my pre-school grandchildren than manipulating him!!!

He was raving on about how McCain did not use Wright, etc. because he just won't go there using the "racial" stuff and should be given the Nobel Prize for that!!. Well...two points ('cause I'm really pissed off):

First, McCain was all over that racist sewer and played dumb and refused to call it off. It pushed his numbers down further OR he would still be pushing the racial bullshit all the way to assasination. -- He "stayed away" from race like last night kids "stayed away" from candy"!!

Second, all this was explained a few weeks ago by good reporters like Richard Wolff and the like. They reported that McCain got these crowds whipped up into racism and then got scared shitless that if Wright was brought up (and he intended to bring him up) that there would be church bombings like the '60's which would bring the rath of God down on his campaign....he would definitely be blamed. He literally feared that throughout areas of our country, the "clan", so to speak, would ride again. THAT is why he couldn't "go there" with Wright. (And, of course, there were his blantant courting of some real slime preachermen and their remarks about the Jews, Catholics etc.)

I don't know how Tweety (and I've seen this often) can already know this stuff from his own network and then bonk off into another direction and never get the connection. Hey, Tweety--the bastard DID racism (even with a Black daughter (nice Dad)). He doesn't deserve a Nobel Prize. He deserves to be elected the Grand Pumpa of the KKK!!!

1. I like Chris ...
but I agree, he annoys me with that, where the hell does he get off saying that McCain should "get credit" for not going nasty? Is he crazy...Mccain practically accused Obama of being a kiddy sex perv...and where does he think this aunt stuff is even coming from? McCain attacking Obama on the patriotism issue today... I guess he'd just rather blame it on McCain's "handlers" and Palin than think that McCain has anything to do with it.

4. Yes, that was complete bullshit. McTroll/Shrilla from Wasilla have run a sleazy, nasty campaign
devoid of actual issues and filled with things from a dumpster.

5. Buchanan was spinning like a top - calling a 3 or 4% win a defeat for Obama
He was proposing that with Bush's poll numbers at only 25%, that anything but an 11 or 10% victory for Obama is like a defeat for him. These grapes are about as sour as they get, almost vinegar at this point.

8. I would spin that as Buchanan expecting a 5 or 6% win for Obama at least...
nm

The fact is, what we're seeing is the Bradley effect. It's strong enough to make this look like a reasonably competitive election but it's not strong enough to beat him. More on that...

I think Obama's opposition is soft. Like it or not, this is a big step for some people. You and I had to take it for them. Once he's in and starts getting rolling, the reservations some people have will melt away. They may not be able to vote for a black man for President but they'll be able to vote for the President if he's black (if you see what I mean).

10. Two Sheds--exactly
Been thinking the same thing. The people really aren't "conservative". They have been told they are and had it hammered into them that Dems are the Devil, etc. But once they see how much better life is when not the "wealth" but the burdens are spread around and lifted off of them, they are going to like it---and the rich fuckers are scared to death of that. They had it good under Clinton (all levels were better off than they ever were). Sadly (and unfortunately this happens), Bush ran on "change"......for Christ's sake, change from WHAT..peace/prosperity?? Well..darlin'...they got it!!! Bottom line: President Obama has to be supported all the way..and I'll be some goddamn mad if he has to fight people in his own party. Let's show them that Dem/liberal is a "good thing".

7. yeah, um, except
Up heah in Maine, McShame has been running Wright ads for days now.

My guess is the *real* reason he didn't run them sooner was because then O would have had a chance to counter them with Keating, et al.

As it is, the last thing we're getting right before election day is blasted with Wright.

9. northern lights--I'm from Maine
Guess I must have missed the ads. But then, I seldom watch the regular networks. I always laugh at 5-6:00 when my husband wants to watch "the local new" which I refer to as the "dogs and cat" show (and every night we have animal stories). Just don't watch it. I swear our winter past time here is: kill a spouse, friend, neighbor and/or burn a house down..preferable both!!! I just can't "do" local news!!! Came from the Midwest and 20 years later keep asking "what is with YOU people" (husband is a Mainer)!

12. almost hit the roof when I heard that
Wanted to start a thread but not enough posts, so thanks for this. Seems like Tweety is starting early on his bid for Congress, not wanting to offend. He's full of crap. McCain has run one the slimiest race-baiting campaigns, whether overtly or by innuendo, that I've ever seen. Today he's once again questioning Obamas patriotism. What'll be tomorrow? Thank goodness this is almost over and on Nov 5th we'll have the beginning of a new Obama admin!

13. See? There goes Tweety again. Off the deep end. Or he got called upstairs
for a talking to.

Did he defend Democrats recently or something? That seems to be a pattern at MSNBC. One day we're all glad that one of the quasi-liberal reporters is strict about the truth when talking with a right winger. Then the next day there he is praising the Republicans, as if making up for being tough on the wing nuts the day before.

Chuck was tough on a right winger yesterday, so today he had to bash a Democrat.
So I wonder if I looked through yesterday's threads I'd find Tweety standing up for the truth with a Republican. They don't like that and probably have top party officials call the network when that happens.

for show and tell at the nursing home.
