Re:Palin Prank Call. Not Just Stupid, but Nationalist and Xenophobic |
|
Sure she's stupid. But, the fact that she listened to who she thought was the President of France say such idiotic and insulting things and not immediately think something was wrong exposes her Nationalistic, or Supremacist ideology. There is no other explanation.
She heard an accent and equated it with inferiority, accepting the ridiculousness as a stupid foreigner. When the fake Sarkozy asked if Joe the Plumber was her husband, she talked to him like he was a 5th grader.
If I were French, especially if I were Sarkozy, I would be offended. I am offended that she is an American and running for the second spot in our government. More than an embarrassment, she is Supremacist. And, an incredible stupid on, at that.

2. She is either far dumber than I thought, or thinks that |
|
everyone else is far inferior to her. Or both.
It was funny as hell. But, scary, too.

3. What about when he talked about his hot wife |

in BED.
She didn't even bat a proverbial eye. Amazing. I'm still laughing.

4. The fact that she and her peeps thought that Sarkozy was calling her for the hell of it, out of the |

blue, with no prep or notification, is telling on so many ways.

Hard to believe, but I'm thinking it's the case. I almost can't believe how stupid she is.

6. I think she couldn't understand the foreign accent and just agreed with everything |
|
to be polite.
She had heard Sarkozy was conservative (by French standards) and so she figured he wouldn't say anything bad about her so why not just agree with stuff when she actually couldn't get the accent.
She's very provincial. Hasn't traveled much so she's not used to foreign accents.

13. I can tell some cocktail party fake-outs and she was doing that |
|
quite a bit. Stuff like, "Yes, that's true. That's wonderful. Yes that's right." easy fillers for when you don't understand.
Meaningless phrases of agreement when she wasn't sure what he was saying.
Otherwise she would have reacted more strongly to a lot of the stuff and realized sooner that she was being punked.
Lots of Americans get totally lost when an accent is the least bit unusual.

17. There was only two parts that was the case. One was when she was speaking french and a second. |
|
All other instances she knew exactly what he was saying because he was cutting her off each and every time from giving her typically stupid long winded answers.

I think she was being diplomatic. If you are on the phone with someone of great importance that you do not know, you must give them a lot of latitude. Of course, that does not excuse her not catching on to the "Nailin Palin" reference, but in all fairness she really may not know about that video since she is in a bubble and has been kept away from negative stories for the past couple of months.
So, yes, the call reveals her for being the same dippy neophyte that we know she is, but I do not think it shows anything revealing about her nationalism or sense of superiority concerning other nations. She was just sucking up to the President of France (in her mind).
The most revealing part of the conversation is when she candidly admits that she is out of the running for say, the next eight years!

that she just sounded completely clueless. Someone told her Sarkozy is conservative and that's all she needed to know. She is VERY provincial and if you notice the places she's lived (ID, AK), they are very homogeneous. She has traveled very few times out of the US. For God's sakes, the employees in her government reads like a Who's Who of her HS yearbook.
And I think with regards to her talking to the prankster like a fifth grader - that's how she ALWAYS talks - to everyone. Her tone is typical of RW faux-populism.

She's that stupid, so she was probably just relieved to hear someone else as dumb as she is.

16. He biggest problem is that she doesn't have a clue...... |
|
and doesn't realize the seriousness of the position that she is vying for. Not one clue. That's what having a country ran by George W. Bush for 8 whole years will do. That's why GW was and is more dangerous than we ever even realized.....although we suspected it. And guess what? She's even more clueless than GW.
