25. Especially beautiful to me is picture number 4...
He smiled...he took her hand....it was too much for her...and she is sobbing.
The young woman next to her, with the look of pure joy and hope, is very, very powerful.
40,000 in "red" Missouri....WOW.

I am still looking for more---compiling all the pics and vids for a remembrance of the most wonderful nite we in Springfield have ever witnessed.

8. And it was held at a high school football field!
The HS fields here are big but would not come close to holding 40,000.

Go Obama!

12. They will if you stand people on the field, lol. At first we were not happy with the venue
as its only supposed to hold around 5500, but that's just bleacher seating. They had people standing on the track and the field, so that made a HUGE difference.

15. Yes, 40,000! However, one or our local GOP tv channels ( KY3) is downplaying it to 25-30 thousand
Edited on Sun Nov-02-08 11:11 AM by MoJoWorkin
and they are not showing the crowd shots. Even tho the Springfield Public School official estimate was 35-40 thousand, per our local paper.

Palin's crowd a few days ago was estimated (high side) at 15,000. SW MO should be her BEST area in which to draw a crowd. LOL

22. haha - only 30,000?
Sad day for the GOP when they have to say the words "only 30,000 people showed up for Obama" considering that Palin/McCain celebrates every time they gets 5,000 people (even if most of them are bussed in school kids).

17. wow, that is incredible
Springfield is not that big a town, compared to St. Louis or Denver where he drew 100,000; and it's generally thought of as a conservative area. To draw that many people...it says something.

6. I was there too! It was fanTAStic! So many hopeful people. A woman from Arkansas was in front of us
she was an older AA woman. I have never seen a person so joyous and full of hope. She was soaking every minute of it up, and her happiness radiated to the rest of us! It was fabulous.
