Thoughts about polling....
...nearly every poll I've seen shows Senator Obama with a strong lead in all the states that Kerry won, is anywhere between 9% and 4% ahead in the battleground states, and is competitive in several traditional red states (and leading a few). So with that in mind, and in the next 48 hours, does anyone really think that that will radically shift?

To give it some perspective, as someone who analyzes tropical cyclones, I can usually find an outlier among the several prediction sets that are combined to give track and intensity forecasts. In the last three years none of those outlier forecasts have ever occured and forecast precision (due to computer modelling) has generally been spot on within a certain tolerance level. I believe the same can be said for polling due to the sophisticated algorithms that are now being used.

Therefore, we must remain vigilant, but I don't think that it's going out on a limb that the Obama/Biden ticket will be victorious with an indelible mandate.
