Poll Spinners and Whiners: Enough Already! |
|
Kerry is putting tough-guys Sasso and Whouley on point in his campaign. But here at DU there is a stream of excuses for bad news and SPINNING of the polls.
Is there some good reason for the endless spinning of poll numbers on GD 2004? It all seems like counter-productive waste of mental energy.
Isn’t it better to just accept that Kerry has been damaged in pubic opinion by the Repub Smear campaigns and the relentless attacks, and get to the job of defending Kerry’s credentials and honor,` and returning fire against Bush.
Sorry, but every time I click on a thread and find it is just a spin, I am angry that my time is being wasted, and my fellow democrats are being lulled into complacency.
Let’s face the facts and do what we have to do to win.

1. The key is not to give up |
|
one of the reasons the SBLiars/Rethugs pollsters are doing what they are doing is to discourage the left from voting. So IGNORE the idiots and make sure EVERYONE who is going to vote Kerry gets to the polls and votes.

6. Accept reports as they are. Stop using "registered" when "likely" is |
|
the relevant baseline. Accept that any of these numbers may be off but the report are what they are: input into what may be happening on the ground.
All campaigns use polling because even poorly done these surveys provide some insight.
Take the insight and get on with the solution. Denial does not help.

double digit leads have proven to be false becuase of their internal numbers(time and newsweek). they provide no insight at all.
as for likely vs registered...the 'real number' is probably in the middle since newly registered people aren't considered 'likely,' but not all 'registered' will vote.

That means we can crow about Bush blowing an 11-point lead. I can live with that.
And I'm thrilled we have some ass-kickers joining the campaign.

10. Again: use polls for what they say, NOT what the DON'T say. |
|
It certianly seems a waste to endlessly misstate what a particular source reports in this forum. It is cute but not useful.

everyone who followed election 2000 knows this. There's no harm in stating that.

15. The only poll that matters is on Nov 2nd............... |
|
the rest is exercise in futility. IMHO the main reason for Kerry's falling behind after the RNC is not speeches by Arnold, McCain, Cheney or Bush. It was ZIG-ZAG ZELL MILLER. Some bluedog dems were most likely the switcharoo's.
