Important Information from the NFIB Regarding "Time-Off" for Voting
Edited on Mon Nov-03-08 07:41 PM by prodn2000
Most States require that employers allow their employees time off to cast their ballots. (In many States, the time off is **Paid!**)

For example:

Texas

Unless the polls are open for voting for two consecutive hours outside of the employee’s working hours, employers must give employees leave to vote without penalty.

Paid

Tex. Code Ann. Election Code § 276.004

If I don't get up early enough to vote before work, I will be there at 5 pm to vote.

12. I give up
Tomorrow is election day. Congress and the State Legislatures in 2/3rds of the States have allowed workers the needed time to vote.

Florida 2004 - 4 hour waits.

Ohio 2004 - 8-10 hour waits.

You are allowed your right to vote AND the right to keep your job (and, in most cases, be paid for your efforts!)

GOTV

GOTV!

13. Thanks.
Workers should be able to vote.

Most States have laws that make that possible.
