The last Democrat to win Dixville Notch was Humphrey in 1968. |
|
So it's most likely going to McCain, as it appears to be a very conservative town. If that happens, don't freak out.
Of course, if Obama wins, it might indicate a major shift.
Here is how past elections went:
2004:
Bush: 19 Kerry: 7
2000:
Bush: 21 Gore: 5
1996:
Dole: 18 Clinton: 8
1992:
Bush Senior: 15 Perot: 8 Marrou: 5 Clinton: 2
1988:
Bush Senior: 34 Dukakis: 3
1984:
Reagan: 29 Mondale: 1
1980:
Reagan: 17 Carter 3
1976:
Ford: 13 Carter: 11
1972:
Nixon: 16 McGovern 3
1968:
Humphrey: 8 Nixon: 4
1964:
Goldwater: 8 Johnson: 1
1960:
Nixon: 9 Kennedy: 0

5. No, you're thinking of major league baseball if the leading team in the AL east is up by 3 games... |
|
No, wait... that's not it. If it's raining in Seattle the Halloween before Election day, then the Republicans will win in an election year ending in 4, 6 or 8. No, hold on--- let me google this...

3. Are those numbers representative of the actual residents? In other words, there are less than 30 |

4. Yes, it's a very small town. |
|
I didn't include those candidates who got less than the two major party candidates (Clinton in 1992 was the only major party candidate who finished in 3rd place there).
Dixville Notch has a population of 75.

12. Yep. I think that's about it. |
|
Absolutely drop dead gorgeous place though- in the middle of 15,000 acres with private lakes and it's own ski mountain. There's really nothing around. It really is isolated.
