Hillary Clinton for Majority Leader |
|
And I HOPE Barack Obama makes the case for her on January 3rd as he will be a major force in the Senate that day.
Can you imagine the triumvirate of Barack Obama in the White House, Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House, and Hillary Clinton setting the agenda in the Senate?

"herding cats," I don't see why Hillary would want it.
The Senate Majority leader is so far down in the line of sucession, it tells you how little power the founders placed on it. The Senate Majority leader only real power is to set the agenda and that is about it.
Hillary would probably be better off avoiding the office.

Hillary would do very well setting the agenda of the Senate.
I want to know what you mean by "You Guys". Spit it out, if you have the damned nads.
I've been an Obama supporter since October 2, 2002. I supported him for the U.S. Senate when he was a nobody in Chicago and everybody thought Blair Hull would win. I supported him through it all. I first donated to his presidential campaign the day he announced in Springfield in answer to an email from his Senaotrial race database because I was a donor in 2004 for the senate race prior to anybody ever hearing about him.
I knew he would one day be president when I heard him speak in Federal Plaza on October 2, 2002.

Dick Durbin, the senior senator from Illinois, for example, is immediately next in line to be Senate Majority Leader. You know Durbin -- he was the only senator who endorsed Obama for over a year, the guy who convinced Obama to run for POTUS?

Durbin discovered Obama. It was Durbin who recommended Obama for the keynote spot to Kerry in 2004.
Durbin is a party guy. He'll always do what's in the best interest of the party.

is not only "what's in the best interest of the party" but what's in the best interest of the country during these difficult times. I'm sure Durbin is looking forward to taking the position for that reason and for the fact that he deserves it as second-in-line to Harry Reid.

The majority leader is the one who has the most pull. Lately, it has been the Senator who can raise AND distribute the most cash and campaign support. If Hillary wants it she simply has to ask. She is arguably the most powerful/influential senator since LBJ.

I'm so tired of Democrats appearing on TV who end up boring the world to death because they have poor speaking skills, or can't think fast on their feet.
Meaning no disrespect or offense to either Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid or anyone else, but it would be nice to spark the interest and keep the interests of Americans when they speak, whether it be in a news conference or on Meet The Press.
We can't sell ourselves if people tune us out.

But hey, Republicans don't like Kerry, Pelosi, Reid and most other Dems either so in the interest of unity, I guess Obama should only work with Republicans or something.
I find it interesting that you can't stand a woman who has been doing so much effective campaigning for Obama all over the country. A couple of the analysts on CNN the other night said that the Obama camp has been absolutely thrilled by her hard work on behalf of the ticket. Plus she's been out helping down-ticket Dems too. But, yeah, you can't stand her so I guess that's all that matters.

Here I am thinking that not proposing the most divisive politician we have as Majority Leader might not be a good idea right off the bat, because it could be a good idea to show the other side that our way is better and maybe getting a lot more voters in 2012 and beyond would be better than turning them off immediately. Wow, do I feel foolish thinking of the long term strategy of our party and the chance to make Republicans politically irrelevant once for all instead of thinking that we should extend our middle fingers to everyone who doesn't like Hillary.
I now see that since she campaigned for him, all should be forgotten and ignored because YOU like her. I was unaware that Barack's promise of unity only concerns Hillary supporters. Thanks for clearing that up.
By the way, if you ever meet her in person, please give her my thanks for her IWR vote.
