A post for my Dad

When I was a kid in the sixties, my folks (my dad, specifically) was a civil rights activist. My best friend was Reggie Mims, a black kid, and our families hung together a lot. When I drove to Florida from Massachusetts with my grandparents, my dad stuffed a biography of Martin Luther King in my travel pack, and I read it the whole way.

My parents, my dad, taught me well. He raised me not to fear others just because they're different. He taught me to help people who need help, fight people who are trying to fuck you over.

My dad died in 1977. And today, finally, I got to cast the vote he never could.

she had 4 kids my two brothers and our sister... and me. they are all of the same complexion as Obama. I am white. I voted last week during early voting so I could work the war room today. It was the vote I was raised for.

BTW I tease my siblings that I voted for McSame... I know I am twisted, I have only one brother believing it...:rofl:

it did motivate him to register and vote, just to counter act my "supposed" vote... (he is a Johovas witness)

7. My father died almost 5 years ago

and I remember him ranting against Bush from his bedside as he lay dying of brain cancer. My Dad is celebrating with yours.
