daughter fill in the "footballs" on my ballot and feed it into the optical voting machine. Number 412. It was hard for me not to get choked up thinking how this may (will!) be the most historic election she will ever see in her life! The poll worker even gave her her own "I voted" sticker, which she wore to school!! I'm really proud of her.

1. Yay! I'm bringing my 7-year-old along today. |
|
I may even let him flip the levers on the ancient NY voting machine.
(And might I just add that I love your screen name? I have a "thing" for Tim the Enchanter, myself.)

3. My mom always took us into the booth |
|
Of course otherwise she would have had to leave us standing there by ourselves.

6. Took my 7 year old to early voting |
|
and she helped me with the door hangers yesterday. This election is just as much about her as anything else, it's great getting kids involved.

7. My 9yo son came into the booth with me... |
|
and then he went in with his 18yo sister to show her how it's done, since it was her first time and all.;)
On the drive home I got all choked up thinking about what this election will mean to him and his life. He is mixed race, just like Obama. I just can't put into words what it means to him to have someone who (as he says) "looks like me" running for POTUS... especially someone as wonderful and gifted as Obama.
