Any port in a storm - I'll take her vote, but not happy about it |
|
I have a neighbor across the street, young woman with two little kids, a lifelong friend of my daughter (who voted for Obama in Alaska). So I am talked to her last week and she said she didn't know if she will vote. She doesn't like McCain, wants us out of Iraq now. But, she said, she didn't think she could vote for Obama because he probably isn't a citizen and is a Muslim (yep, she swallowed both of those canards). So I explained to her that he is a native born American, that he is Christian and she didn't seem totally convinced and that's when she said she probably would not vote at all.
So this morning I saw her again and she was pushing the baby carriage down to the school where we vote. She said that she was voting for Obama! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

3. A PUMA posted here last night... |
|
a really nasty post with a link with two reasons why she/he is voting for Obama. They were really insulting, but hell, it's a vote. I really wanted to tell this person to not bother, but that would be stupid.

She is making a stand and is doing something she is not entirely comfortable with. It really illustrates well the fact that most Americans have more common wants and needs than any differences we have individually.

9. Just spoke to my daughter on the phone |
|
She also spoke to the neighbor on the phone. She told my daughter about our conversation and my daughter asked her how could Obama be a Muslim if they are pounded him for his crazy reverend Wright and the neighbor, who saw the Wright spots several times, said yeah, you must be right about that.
So it was a family effort and now I feel much better about it!

8. 72% of Americans thought Iraq did 911. Until they learned the truth the rest of the world |
|
had known all along. (Hell, even Tony the bLiar never tried the "Iraq did 911" meme.)
Yet half these people allowed themselves to be DUPED CONNED TRICKED yet AGAIN.
They deserve decades more of neocon rule.
The rest of us don't.

11. A vote is a vote is a vote. |

And whether you press the button half-heartedly or with total enthusiasm, you're still pressing the button, right? Rock on.
