It isn't redistribution of Wealth.... |
|
That can not happen unless their is some type of taxable transaction...
It is reevaluating the income stream...
Why hasn't anyone on our side made that point?
I am sick and tired of the greedy bastards on CNBC and Fox go on and on about redistribution of wealth...
Oh and yea, they are greedy. They think the way they manipulate money is more important that working for a living. That self importance self-justifies special standing in America and so exposes their greed.
They firmly believe that actually producing something more than ghost money is beneath them. So any change in how their super duper special important income, capital gains and various investment income skeams, is taxed is anathema to them...
They want the working stiff to pay a full ride while they get special treatment because they took a risk by investing.
Hello, isn't the profit you make from that investment the best measure of that risk?
And affording special tax treatment to this risky business ups the ante so riskier investments are made. Hence the crash. Skewing the tax sytem is a major contributing factor to these bubbles in our economy.
I'm sick and tired of these windbag capitalists who view wages and salary with disdain and utter contempt...

1. I'm thinking that our side doesn't make your point |
|
because it might not be easily communicated with the person in the street...
It's a complex and subtle point...Not a sound bite...
And these bastards on Fox and CNBC think they deserve special treatment because of their outstanding brain power!:eyes:

3. "wealth redistribution" is a poor term in all aspects. |
|
"Wealth" is an accumulation of assets. It is net worth. It is not the same thing as income. We don't tax people's net worth, we tax their income.
(well, we do have property tax, but that's not a federal issue, and it's not what any of the knee-jerk right wingers are talking about when they spew the term "wealth redistribution")
By allowing the lower and middle classes to retain a little more of their income while requiring those who have benefitted the most from the opportunity to succeed that our society has provided to pay a little more, we are not "redistributing wealth".
We are giving to the lower and middle classes a little more opportunity to succeed, while asking those who have succeeded to help keep the pump that fuels their success primed.
We are not redistributing wealth.
We are enabling equal access to prosperity.
