Of all people - Bill Bennett just gave major props to Howard Dean on CNN..
He brought up Howard Dean's 50 state strategy and said Dean deserves major credit (if everything works well for Obama) and his name hasn't been mentioned enough through this race....

1. Bill Bennett is dumb, but he's not nearly as big a jerk as most republicans.
:hi:

5. James Carville also made a great point
"There's no possible way you can separate the national number from the state number."

Bravo. No kidding. That should be a lesson to the clowns who try to insist the national polls don't matter. I can't believe they get away with that ignorance on sites like this.

Anderson Cooper asked Carville if a year ago he could have imagined a Democrat being competitive in states like Indiana and North Carolina. That's what prompted Carville's response. He said in a wave election with a 9 point margin, absolutely he would expect a Democrat to be competitive in those states and many others, since the national margin impacts everything.

Let this election be an end to all the crap that national polls don't matter in a general election. Save that for the primaries, two different animals.
