3. The rural counties report first - they're mostly McCain...
...the urban/suburban areas report later (more votes to count) - they'll break heavily for Obama.

7. bigger areas report later
The fact that Obama is doing well in the rural areas is a good sign, but we do have a ways to go yet.

9. Just chill - Western Virginia is just reporting now.
That's it.

Obama was expected to get beaten there by large margins.

10. I am so not worried about this
Those are super rural, unpopulated counties, reporting, which is why they're reporting at this point.

Edited on Tue Nov-04-08 07:48 PM by BunkerHill24
Malicious ads on how Obama would cut defense spending if elected. Lets remember though it's still too early to call.

13. warner was ahead by 30 points in the polls
Obama's average was around 5. It was very obvious that Warner was going to win about a year ago.

15. When Richmond and the northern counties start reporting
Right now Obama is 20,000 off of Warner's totals, but (a) Warner was way ahead in the polls and (b) the areas that have reported so far tend to be republican.

Virginia is no guarantee, of course, but it's far from over yet.

16. WE HAVE BEEN WORKING DAY AND NIGHT. EVERY DAY. EVERY HOUR. IN VIRGINIA!!
MARYLAND AND D.C. VOLUNTEERS ROCK!!! MCCAIN HAS NO GROUND GAME!! Obama had 59 offices to McCain's 19. He had virtually no volunteers. Poor phone banking. All he had were negative ads.

NoVA and other BLUE counties, which are the largest in the state, have not returned votes yet...
