I have a dumb question...
Why the heck do the news organizations call states so early? I mean...with 10% or less, how can they possibly be so sure?

1. I know that in the past
they would use key precincts, ones that mirrored that state as a whole. Once they had the returns from those key precincts they could call states with astonishing accuracy.
