Why does Chuck Todd sound so down? |

This is an exciting, historic election.

1. He and Rachel have been major downers all night |
|
In one breath, Todd admits that big OBama counties in IN and VA have not been counted, while in the next breath he puts out that Obama isn't flipping red states. Of course the call of OH just shut that up.

2. Him possibly being a Repig aside... he's probably just plain TIRED. |
|
Really how much must these people bust their ass the last few months of a campaign?
Not that I feel sorry for him, but really, he's probably worn the f*ck out.

12. trying to increase drama..hold the audience. |

It's clear Obama is outperforming Kerry by a significant margin almost everywhere. I suspect Axelrod and Plouffe were confident when some of the Indiana returns showed +15% over Kerry.
California is still voting, they don't want criticism regarding calling the race too soon. But the big thing is they want to keep the viewers tuned in by not tipping their hand too soon.
