8 Long Years. 2 Monumental Heartbreaks. We Did It DU. We Did It This Time. 8 Long Years.
I officially just shed my first tears. 8 years in waiting. That's a long time. 2 stolen elections. A broken country. A broken system. Wars. Pain. Hardship. Lost jobs. Lost image. Lost morals.

I'm a hardass here but a softy at heart. I'm a die hard Democrat and I've hated what I've seen these last 8 years. I've never wanted something so badly as this victory. Every day since 2004... every single day... I've counted down until today. Today is here. Today is now. Today... we WIN!

To all my black brothers and sisters, huge hugs to you on what must be an absolutely amazing feeling of having finally arrived. We have a long way to go in this country, but as of today we will have FINALLY elected a black president to the United States! That feeling must be amazing!

To all my female sisters, Roe Vs Wade and your RIGHTS of choice will now be protected for YEARS to come with the new round of SC justices that will be appointed. For YEARS! Huge hugs to you all on that and Congratulations on knowing for the time being in any real foreseeable future, your RIGHTS WILL REMAIN PROTECTED!

To all the rest of my brothers and sisters here, there will be many personal posts from all of you in the coming days celebrating this victory and I stand right there with you all in your joy. My eyes teary as I write this. This was a must win election year. We really did it. We really did it, didn't we. 8 long years. 8 years of hell for this country. 8 years of seeing policies pushed through that are so illogical, so inhuman, so inherently wrong. 8 years of fearing for the childrens' future. 8 years of wondering when it would end. Would the Hannity's and Limbaugh's rule this country for decades? Will we continue to lose rights and all hope for returning to the country we once loved? Things seemed so dark sometimes. The GOP foundation seemed so strong and unstoppable. But NOT THIS TIME. NOT THIS YEAR. The foundation has crumbled!

This is the start of the most beautiful new dawning day we will likely see in our lifetimes in this country. We have much work to do, but one huge challenge is behind us.

Hope. Change. Obama.

We. Fucking. Did. It.

YES!!!!!!!!

3. Crying here, too...
It feels like my heart is draining of 8 long years of pain and sorrow, and being refilled with profound joy and hope. I'm so proud to be able to call Barack Obama my President! We the people have not only spoken today, we have ROARED and now our country belongs to US once again. It feels so wonderful to actually TRUST my President to do what is best for ALL of us. I am proud to have supported a candidate with real integrity, one who is actually honest and decent, and not just cynically pretending to be to win votes.

America made it clear tonight that lying, corruption, defiling the Constitution, waging criminal wars and turning its back on fellow Americans in need will no longer be tolerated, and that those who do those things will be ousted. I want to thank everyone who did even the smallest thing to bring about this amazing night, and the bright future to come.

Is it silly for me to say I feel truly free again for the first time since 12/12/00? I think it's time to hang an American flag on my porch again. Can't wait until inauguration day!

Congratulations, Mr. President-Elect!
