No, John McCain's hateful words and actions throughout the latter part of his campaign will not be forgotten by us. But HE LOST! We all KNEW he would lose! They were the ACTIONS of a man who was desperate and could not win. So let's get over it. Let's let it go. Obama not only won, but he slapped McCain's wrinkled old ass and left a sizable, bleeding hand print!

So let's take our victory and move on graciously.

How bout it? :)

47. No Quarter!
This isn't about repukes. You can negotiate with rational humans. You can't negotiate with mindless monsters.

This is about justice.

What justice will there be for 500 years of slavery, civil war, oppression, hatred, Jim Crow, segregation, etc...

When you have cancer, do you hold out a hand and negotiate with the cancer? Of course not. You destroy it.

repukes are cancer. Our Leader just started the chemo. It's our job to keep it up until there's not a single cancer cell left.

There is no such thing as a good repuke. Never has been, never will be.

They're the party of slavery and Jim Crow, ferkrissakes! We really want to negotiate with monsters?

Never.

NO QUARTER

i'm gonna gloat till January...2012! or mebbe '16!

after 8 years of utter torment watching this country fall to pieces, knowing that my tax dollars were going to kill and maim and destroy, and would have continued and escalated under mccain, and hearing all the propaganda and lies and feeling that health insurance was unattainable...i can't help it.

;)

seriously though, i have buttoned my lip and taken quite a bit of racism and harassment tonight. i stifled my urge to gloat, though i desperately wanted to take a swing right back...still gonna give high fives and celebrate with my D buddies though!

calling Obama a "Muslim."

I can't wait to say, "You lost. Get over it" to the Freeps. (I learned that from them in 2000 and 2004.)

simply basking in the glow of kindness and true leadership being unveiled honestly..all the anger and rage I have felt at those people who for years did nothing but attempt to divide this country and encourage us to distrust and hate each other meant nothing to me...I wasn't honestly even thinking about them, strange..they are the past...we have a new future that looks so much more appealing..

46. Quite shortly they are going to remind us how hateful they are.
I don't mind being a peacemaker, but these people are snakes and are dangerous. I will not attack them (verbally, of course in case you had something different in mind) but if they attack me or my President, I will attack back.

Really, the first move will be up to them. I suspect it's going to be ugly.

Mebbe later. Right now, I'm not feeling it.

Obama bumper sticker in the deepest bloody-red heart of CA between the hours of 8:00 PM & 10:00 PM election night & only accessible by 3 other units = some neighbors about to see the wrath of me.

Tonight I'm celebrating ... no one is ruining that for me & mine. Tomorrow I figure out how to get to work & pay for a new tire. But gracious is gonna take awhile to get to.

37. McCain needs to calm down his wacko supporters!
Edited on Wed Nov-05-08 01:15 AM by minnesota_liberal
When some of his more unruly supporters booed Obama this evening, McCain had an excellent opportunity to say, "Grow up, wise up and shut up!" Of course, he did not. He and Palin attracted many radical nuts who need to be talked down for the sake of our country.

Only time will tell whether McCain will, as he pledged during his campaign, "reach across the aisle" and work for the betterment of the country -or- stick with divisive, partisan politics.

written by another, not his words nor his true inner thoughts..he could have addressed the hate he and his sidekick let loose but again, he did nothing more but look the other way, and on that note, he speech meant nothing coming from his lips to my ears....

39. I didn't say I wasn't going to enjoy my victory.
And maybe I should have provided more context. He told me to "not thank him" for Obama's victory and was being an asshole. That's not the same as continuing to take shots at John McCain who have a gracious concession speech.

44. Gracious concession speeches do not excuse anything.
In 2000 John McCain apologized, well after the fact, for his support of the Confederate flag, which he used to pander to Southern voters. He said he had lied about his support and would never do it again.

He must have been desperate and knew he couldn't win. I guess that's why he did it.

And that's why he did it again, over and over again, all through this campaign.

His concession speech was just more calculated bullshit designed to whitewash - and I use that word deliberately - his cynical, deliberate lies. I agree with the sentiments of your other thread. This one, no.
