Is it ridiculous to think John Kerry would take a cabinet position? |
|
I have no way of knowing but I have a feeling he would want to stay in the senate as a sort of Ted Kennedy figure. But on the other hand you never know. He is a classy and smart SOB.

1. He was just mentioned as being on the 'short list' for SOS (along with Lugar |
|
and I forget who the third one was).
I'm in agreement with you -- I have a feeling he'll want to stay in MA.

3. Why? He is a good candidate for SOS, and it would clearly PO the GOP. |

OTOH, he is in line for the chairmanship of SFRC. So, who knows what he thinks. Anyway, it is Obama's call.

7. To answer your question that's the reason I ask rhetorically. He seems to have |
|
a bright future in the senate but I don't think I'm getting ahead of myself thinking that a cabinet position would be a good fit. In a way i feel he made this whole thing happen. I'm still disappointed he didn't make it 4 years ago and I'd love to rub it in people's faces by putting him in the White House sort of speak. We'll see.

4. I think he is deserved some kind of major position in the Senate or in the Obama administration |
|
I keep thinking how much better the last 4 years would've been so much had he been President but, alas, it was simply not meant to be. I personally wish we could get rid of Reid and Kerry could become Senate Majority leader but that is probably a pipe dream. His elevation of Obama to the national stage is one of his greatest acts as a public servant IMHO. I'll be happy to support him in whatever position he ultimately ends up serving in whether it's assuming Ted Kennedy's mantle in the Senate or playing a role in the Obama administration. It chokes me up just to think about having a REAL Obama administration to talk about!

8. He was one of the first |
|
If not THE first to throw his support behind Obams. He lent a lot of legitimacy to Obama's campaign - plus more than 75% of Obama's platform = Kerry's platform. I think he deserves some recognition. Though the $64K question is - does he want SoS?? IDK.
