She certainly showed no compassion for the South during Katrina.
Condi shrugged her shoulders when asked if she planned to do something when Katrina struck. She said it wasn't her job. Then went shoe shopping in New York and attended Broadway shoes.

She is very disconnected from the Civil Rights movement and struggle - not to mention how many black and people of color she sent to their deaths as a result of her actions and statements on Iraq.

I judge people not based on conveniently timed crocodile tears, but on their track record. Condi's is shameful.

And shame on her for trying to hitch her star to Obama's.

65. Campaign ads are meant to reach a certain segment of the population.
Those that mentioned Powell were targeted at people who still respect him.

I am not ready to say one way or the other whether Obama respects Powell's judgment or not. He did appreciate the endorsement. I appreciated the endorsement, too.

A lot of people like McCain, too, even though they disagree with him and consider HIM an enabler. The list of dems who say they like McCain is quite long and includes several dem primary contenders this year, you might recall.

Condi didn't seem too teary eyed when the people of the Katrina lost everything are were without food and shelter. Condi shrugged her shoulders, said it wasn't her responisibility and went off to the Broadway shows and shoe shopping.

Condi is just auditioning. She probably just wants a job in an Obama admin --- which would be a disaster!!!!!!!!!

47. I would like to believe that she is happy about Obama's win.
But Condi has demonstrated nothing more over these past years than a single-minded focus on Condi's best interests and how far she could keep her head up *'s behind. Her tenure has been catastrophic for our country abroad. She was not paying attention when she should have been and 9-11 resulted. She has been the least effective if not outright worst Secretary of State in my lifetime and perhaps even in that of America's.

Unlike Powell, she was in at the torture meetings from the beginning.

If she became a Republican initially because of the way "Southern Democrats" initially treated her father, that is understandable. That she remained a Republican once those same "Southern Democrats" became part of the radical right wing of the GOP is inexcusable.

She may be tearing up more at the real prospect of having to answer for the war crimes she enabled and also because she jumped on absolutely the wrong bandwagon.

But that's just cynical me speaking.

59. Condi voted for Obama...because...they have a lot in common.
THEY ARE BOTH SMART! They are both highly intelligent, have had excellent educations and are extremely knowledgable. These are things that have been lacking in our government in the last 8 years.

Let's face it....a black person has to be exceptional in order to make it the way Condi or Barack have. A black person with the intelligence (or lack of) of Bush, McCain or Palin would be working at a Post Office. Equality would be, to me, where anyone running for a position of leadership and power would need to be exceptionally intelligent. I hope we all know now that we need smart people at the helm because they make smart decisions and judgements. Equality is also more white people working for the post office because it is a good and honorable job to have.
