Good Grief!! Is this THE worst headline you have ever read?! |
|
Just caught the end of a preview of tomorrow's papers on Irish television so I'm not certain which paper it is - but it's one of the British tabloids that (unfortunately) sells in Ireland.
The main headline is 'The Earth Moves' - under that is a photo of Barack kissing and hugging Michelle after last night's speech, and the sub-heading is....:
Obama gets a huge election.
Considering it's a tabloid the, em, pun was a little obvious. The reviewers were gobsmacked!

...I have a giggle at the double entendres in tabloid headlines, even if I hate the crap inside the covers, but I just thought this was....well....sort of a bizarre angle to pick from a moment of history! True, tabloids find erections in all kinds of strange places.... :-) ....but here?!?!

...considering its a Brit tabloid.
They are quite biting in their political commentary, from headlines to comedy to regular day-to-day commentary.
I personally enjoy it. So I did not find it distasteful -- if it had been a U.S. right wing rag I might feel differently.
