Bitter post-election freeper LTTE in Columbus Dispatch today.
Obama doesn't have U.S. interests at heart
(Columbus Dispatch, November 6, 2008)

For the first time in my life, I am ashamed to be an American. We as a nation have proved Osama bin Laden correct: We no longer have the stomach for any kind of fight.

The American people have elected a man who hates America and all it stands for in an effort to end the war on terrorism, a man who is sympathetic to the enemy in this war. Although I have disagreed with the policies of many politicians, I never questioned their desire for a better America. I disagreed with almost every policy of former Presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton and former Speaker of the House Tip O'Neill, yet they all had America's best interests at heart. Obama has fooled the American people into thinking he is a middle-of-the-road Democrat, relying on the laziness of the people to avoid checking his voting record. He is the most liberal member of the U.S. Senate, who has condemned America at every chance.

We have elected a socialist with strong anti-American beliefs, a man with a United Nations view of the world.

May God bless America; we certainly need it.

DAVE MASON
Delaware

Angry Dave has placed his delusional paranoia and false beliefs on public display. And where did Angry Dave get these false beliefs? I lay the blame in one place and one place only: right-wing hate radio.

Is reviving the Fairness Doctrine the best or only way to rid ourselves of this sickness? What can we do to shut off the poison dripped daily into our nation's veins? It makes me so sad to read or hear these lost souls ranting about Obama "hating America", especially right in the midst of the worldwide celebration of his election.

(Geographical note: Delaware is a pleasant but highly Republican town just north of Columbus.)

1. What a loser
How come they are allowed to question the President and be ashamed of America, but we weren't? At least my reasons to be ashamed of America were (and are) real, not some racist made up tripe.

2. I attribute anyone with feelings like that to be a racist. Sorry, but this "hatred" before Obama
even gets out of the starting gate is astounding to me.

3. We were called anti-american or unpatriotic if we questioned Bushco
or his policies. It is the DUTY of Americans to question their government.

4. He'd prefer a leader who gains power through theft & subterfuge
rather then through a landslide victory in an election. Such is the conservative vision of America.

5. I've heard this railing against the Fairness Doctrine
in the office. The show-stopper is always, "So, what do you have against being fair? If right-wing ideology is so strong and so perfect, surely it can stand up on its own merits, man-to-man, on a level playing field. Or is it so weak that it can't? HmmmMMMMM?"

That usually ends it.

Boyhowdy, let something not go ALL THEIR WAY ALL THE TIME and the RW'ers are the first to squeal (wait for it!!) "waaaaahhhhhh!!! NO FAIR!!".

Babies. I have no respect for them at all.
