WOW. Inaugural Theme is "A New Birth of Freedom" from Lincoln's address. But read these comments
from HuffPo

When I heard that it was going to be a Lincoln theme I smiled.
I sincerely believe Obama is Lincoln reincarnated - call me crazy, silly, what have you...but not only does he kind of look like him, he seems to have the same quiet warmth.
I was looking at the pictures of Obama with Babies, and they showed some with the children looking up at him, his hands on their shoulders and you could only see the back of his head (and those cute ears) and it just reminded me of Lincoln.

How wonderful that so many things have come to pass this year - Hillary Clinton's giving her speech on the anniversary of granting women the right to vote..Barack's nomination acceptance speech on the anniversary of MLK's speech.
I feel many many things have come full circle - it was almost as if this was all written in the cards - this was our destiny as long as we made the right choice.
And as the knight guardian said in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade "You have chosen....wisely."

You are not silly or crazy as I have felt that about him from the first time I saw him. There are no coincidences, but everything about him points to the fact that he is Abe. What glory that the man who freed slaves should come back as the first back to be elected president. Lincoln signed the Emancipation at 11 p.m. and that is the same hour that Obama was declared president elect. God keep him safe this time to accomplish the good things he couldn't last time.

I secretly agree with you!

Bravo ... well said, well taken !!

Civil War ... Civil Rights ... Civility ! The latter helps me breathe ... as President Elect Obama mentioned, if we breathe, we hope !

2. I'm sorry, but did that person say Obama looks like Lincoln? Lincoln was a fairly ugly dude.

3. It's a great thought perhaps,
as long as the ending is rewritten.

I don't personally think that Barack looks much like Lincoln other than the fact that they both are/were tall and slender and have/had interesting multifaced faces though.

4. Obama's cool head and calm, unflappable demeanor mark him as
an "old soul", at least if you subscribe to these things. I am of an open mind when it comes to the idea of reincarnation. Some people just seem to be born wise. My niece is one of them.

6. I thought President Obama's reference to Lincoln was very telling, in many ways.
And there is a certain irony in the first black President, a Democrat, harking back to Lincoln, the first and most revered Republican President, who freed the slaves and saved the Union.
