Earth calling Obamites: "GOP strategists mull McCain ‘blowout’"

From Politico:

GOP strategists mull McCain ‘blowout’

It sounds crazy at first. Amid dire reports about the toxic political environment for Republican candidates and the challenges facing John McCain, many top GOP strategists believe he can defeat Barack Obama — and by a margin exceeding President Bush’s Electoral College victory in 2004.

...The contours of the electoral map, combined with McCain’s unique strengths and the nature of Obama’s possible vulnerabilities, have led to a cautious and muted optimism that McCain could actually surpass Bush’s 35-electoral-vote victory in 2004. Though they expect he would finish far closer to Obama in the popular vote, the thinking is that he could win by as many 50 electoral votes.

5. IBTL. But I must confess I felt a great desire

to dredge up some old threads where Perry and NJSecularist and the like insisted that I was completely wrong in my belief that Obama could compete in and win VA, NC, IN, OH, FL, MT, and MO.

7. Read Perry Logan's blog RECENTLY? It's not what I expected.
Apparently, he got fed up with the PUMAs--or they got fed up with him, I'm not sure which--because he didn't believe some of the RW Hannity crap they were swallowing. Also, he turned his back on McCain/Palin when the "real American vs. un-American" nonsense became too vicious even for him.

He voted McKinney, so apparently he's a liberal once more, albeit a non-Obama supporter--but it looks like he's got a few regrets.

Perry Logan is now officially the Joe Lieberman of Democratic Underground.

which I guess just goes to prove that no matter how crazy someone is - there is always someone crazier.

from is his strange blog:

Unfortunately, I am now PUMA non grata, because I defended Obama against some of the goofier charges the Repubs were making against him... But as a movement, it doesn't seem like they've cohered too well. And if they're dumb enough to believe the ACORN meme and the "Obama is a socialist meme," the party is well rid of them

12. Around that time, I predicted that the election wouldn't be close
I've said from the beginning that Obama could win or lose in a landslide, and I remember saying around the time he clinched the nomination that I did not think the election would be close. I just had a feeling that after 2 nailbiter elections, this one was going to be decisive one way or the other. I wasn't quite sure which way at the time, but I just had a feeling it wasn't going to be close.
