I just saw the CNN ticker saying Lieberman's spokesman said he is in talks with 'Pukes about... |
|
caucusing with them Republicans. I've found no other link or info on this anywhere.
Has anyone seen anything on this? what I read sounded awfully lot like a threat.

3. Liebermann votes Liberal over 90% of the time |
|
While I despise him for what he has done, and for his Neocon leanings, he has been a reliable vote for reasonable liberal legislation ....
I hate him, but I think it is better for him to caucus with Democrats ....
Damn it .... 59 is better than 58 ....

It's hardly a stretch given all he's resorted to this year. A pathetic man.

10. You think getting kicked off a committee will change his political views?... |
|
If it does, then all the more reason to get rid of him.
The Republicans will never allow him on any significant committee. No matter what they say, most of them hate him as much as Democrats do... And any who don't have lots of constituents who hate him.
Sorry, but Lieberman needs a spanking, whether or not he threatens to take his ball and go home.
The truth is, he's a pariah in the middle now, disliked by both sides. In 2012, he'll be a complete has-been.

17. WRT Obama, he has gone back on his word 100% of the time |
|
He cannot be trusted with a chairmanship. He will use it to attack Obama.
If he cannot accept that, it's his decision to make.

18. Occasionally, principle has to come before power. |
|
This is one such occasion.
Please remember that Holy Joe was often right behind Sarah "Death threats" Palin when she talked about Obama palling around with terrorists. Holy Joe joined in on the fun in questioning Obama's loyalty to the country. Holy Joe campaigned, not just for mcRacist, but also for down ticket repubs.
Let LIEberman quit caucusing with the Dems. If he caucuses with the repubs and still votes in the interests of his state then he might be able to win another term. If he does an about face and votes like a repub, he'll lose to the Dem in 2012. Either way, Dems get the votes and that slimy bastard is punished for his despicable actions.

20. He doesn't need to stay in the caucus to vote with us on particular issues. |
|
Assuming he wants to seek another term, he's not going to suddenly start voting like wingnut while representing Connecticut. Either way we don't need him for a majority, and that was the only leverage he had. The number of times in the Senate where there are straight partyline votes are rare, but in those cases, actually, 59 is not better than 58. It's exactly the same.

22. Why can't he vote for reasonable liberal legislation as a Republican? |
|
He is a traitor, and he should be kicked out out of the Democratic caucus. Why should he be privy to internal party discussions?

it's all that prick has left, I wonder if in his delusional mind he actually thinks the repukes like him. Shit, they loath him more than we do, he has nobody and short of his vote in the Senate I think most people there would be quite happy if he just locked himself in a garage with the car running.
My biggest hope for that melon headed asshole is that he's demoted to broom closet size office in the basement of an annex somewhere so he can slink into obscurity.
His last hope was a McLame win so he could be Sec of State, now with a fairly large Dem majority he's useless to everyone and that makes me really happy.

6. What difference does it make... |

we got a big majority in the senate, but we're not going to get to number 60, so let him Caucasus with the republican. He's nothing but a distraction to the democratic party anyways.

9. I don't see Joe voluntarily going over to the Pugs. |
|
I do see him flirting with them and threatening, but he's not going. Better to be a journeyman among the winners than a celebrity among the losers.
To put it another way, for a rat like Joe, leaving the Democrats for the Republicans is like swimming out to the Titanic. Every rat has self-preservation instincts too good to permit that.

14. You got that right. What is the point of him going over there when... |
|
he won't get a chairman position with the Republicans..
he will be in the minority party..
what happens if/when the Republicans lose more Senate seats?..
he won't be given as much credit for anything related to supporting Israel..
the media will be less inclined to cover any news relating to Lieberman in a few months.

24. Yep, if he believes actions should have no consequences... |
|
...then he is a Puke. Apparently he thought he should be able to go to the GOP convention and dis Obama and then still be welcomed back by the Dem Senate Leadership and allowed to continue to chair the Homeland Security Committee. Yeah, he belongs with the pukes.

If Franken wins the recount, Democrats will be very close to 60 votes in the Senate. The Republicans will beg Lieberman to cross over.
