NC Voters 18-29 went 74% to 26% for Obama |
|
Ive been looking at some of the exit polls. In NC Obama only won one age bracket, but by a wide enough margin to win the state. Also won 56% of white voters aged 18-29. Amazing. http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/results/polls/#val=NCP00p1

And everyone I know who's in that age bracket voted for him.
Edited - damn, why do I keep saying I'm 28 when I've got a month left until my birthday?

are going to form the basis of a realignment. Reagan won the youth vote by similar margins in 1980 and that led to almost 30 years of conservative dominance. We are going to enter a progressive political era because of this youth vote combined with the demographic changes occurring throughout our country.

6. The map has been redrawn |
|
And there will be even more redrawing going on in 2012, when more states will certainly go from red to blue.

8. I'm 27, and proud to be part of the 74% in my age bracket that voted for Obama! nt |
|
This proves to me something I've known for a while -- young voters are far more liberal than their parents and grandparents. I hope this trend continues!
