Education official refuses to retract Obama terror claim

Associated Press
Nov. 3, 2008, 6:44PM

AUSTIN — State Board of Education member Cynthia Dunbar isn't backing down from her claim that Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is plotting with terrorists to attack the U.S.

The Texas Freedom Network, a watchdog group that monitors the board, released a public statement on Monday asking Dunbar to retract the statement.

"I don't have anything in there that would be retractable," said Dunbar, R-Richmond. "Those are my personal opinions and I don't think the language is questionable."

In a column posted on the Christian Worldview Network Web site, Dunbar wrote that a terrorist attack on America during the first six months of an Obama administration "will be a planned effort by those with whom Obama truly sympathizes to take down the America that is threat to tyranny."

17. Yes, it's why THIS liberal family home schools
Seriously. And we live in the NE.

All the right-wing nutjobs who aspire to higher office seem to start at the school board level. They took over our affluent district, and it's hateful. Here's the thing: they can run on both the republican AND Democratic side. Some fluke, I don't know. But it's fixed.

40. This liberal family homeschools also, but our homeschool assoc. sent out an anti-Obama
email, stating that if elected he would turn over the Dept of Education to terrorist Bill Ayers. We protested the use of a school-related website to promote blatantly false propaganda and were summarily dismissed from the Assocation. Welcome to E. Tennessee, where you can't get away from the wackjobs in public school without running into more RW Wingnuts.

83. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota began with the school board, which is why
down ticket elections can be just as important as top tickets. This is how these nutjobs get their foot in the door.

We could rope off, say, Nebraska. We'll give non-reptilians 72 hours to beat feet before rolling out the razor wire and armed guards. How's that?

38. Well, you'll have to ask people in Nebraska about that...
Maybe we could find a deserted island somewhere? These folk keep talking about rugged individualism and laissez-faire economics and weak government. Drop them in the desert and see if they learn something about interdependence. If they are right, they should build their Utopia in a few weeks.

Edited on Wed Nov-12-08 10:44 AM by JohnnyRingo
He said we should pick a square one to fence off because it would be more less expensive. He went on to say it should be one that already has a large number of lunatics in residence.

I say fence off all but the top part of Utah, so we can still go skiing.

103. One of my favorite Carlin bits EVER!
Edited on Thu Nov-13-08 12:07 AM by illuminaughty

The first State he wanted to rope off was KANSAS (where I sit)
Here's a snippet from a blog I did the night he passed away.

"This Country is Finished!" My words?...oh sure, but I would never have the where and what all, the opportunity, nor the balls to say it on national TV where everyone could breathe a collectible sigh and say, "Thank (well, he wouldn't thank god now would he?_ but thank someone's God that someone finally said it". Yet he always spoke truth to power. That night the internet was abuzz with what he'd said..."Did you hear what George Carlin said on "Countdown" And when he spoke those four words on MSNBC last fall, it was like...not having to pretend to believe in Santa Claus anymore, not feeling like a failure, or, that I just hadn't worked hard enough because I see the American Dream slipping away from me. It was like...Thanks, George. Thanks Mr. Carlin. Thanks for lending your credibility to a sentiment we all are starting to accept. Thanks for not ever drinking the koolaid and thanks for it being you that delivered the bad news. From you, it made it feel as though there might be a fraction of a chance to still change things around
So, let me just get this out of the way.

If you didn't think George Carlin was funny, fuck you and your little dog too! Take your Jeff Foxworthy CDs, your watermelon smashin' Gallagher videos, yeah you, you old former Pauly Shore worshippin' mother fuckers, ye who still flock to openings of Adam Sandler films, go wipe your hands off on Howie Mandel, grab a noose and a chair or a very dependable firearm and please, please, if you wouldn't mind...just go on now, and blow your brains out. Come on, "git er done". I'm not tryin' to be mean spirited, I'm simply, as that genius of comical words continually was, just tryin' to cleans things up; even things out. The world could use a whole lot less of average and a lot more of unique and inspirational. Yes, unique and inspirational, brutally, painfully honest who snaps your ribs in half with his humor. And he's gone now, even as all around the country tonight, I'm sure there are masses of far wealthier comedians, lame ass mo fos selling their T-shirts in the lobby, ready to step on stage and at some point during their gig tonight will "pay tribute" to the late George Carlin for the influence he had on them

20. How does she reconcile Obama's choice for Chief of Staff?
If Obama is a terrorist (presumably an Islamic terrorist), then why did he choose for his Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, a Jew of Israeli descent?

Emanuel's father was not only born in Jerusalem, but at one time wa a member of a militant zionist group. And Rahm at one time was a civilian volunteer assisting the Israel Defense Forces.

Like this nutjob does in her photo.

There's this billboard of Laura Ingraham on my way to work, and she looks miserable and angry in the photo.

if you're asked.

Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness.

Or Witless in her case. She may be doing something I expect to see and hear from some conservatives: go all out on the attack in such a way that officials, not necessarily Federal officials have to react. If she doesn't retract her accusation, her higher-ups may have to remove her. If they do, she's a martyr and can go on FNC with her tale of "woe."

A frequent public speaker, she does radio interviews and speeches addressing various constitutional, common law and public policy issues.

Dunbar obtained her undergraduate degree in biology and psychology from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. She graduated with honors from Regent University School of Law, where she served as the founding editor of the school's law review. She is the recipient of three separate American Jurisprudence Awards.

Dunbar served as director of governmental affairs for Fort Bend County, Precinct 3, functioning as in-house counsel and legislative liaison. She is a licensed member of both the Texas and Missouri State Bar Associations. She is active in her community having volunteered as an Awanas Leader, Boy Scout Den Mother, and school homeroom mom. Her civic involvements also include helping such organizations and events as the Fort Bend Boys Choir, Faith Lutheran Shoot for the Stars Gala and the American Cancer Society.

A conservative Republican, Dunbar has been an active member of the Spirit of Freedom Republican Women's Club and has served on its board in numerous capacities. Additionally, she has held memberships in the West Fort Bend Republican Club, the Fort Bend Republican Women's Club and the Fort Bend Republican Club. She has attended Republican State Conventions as both an alternate and a delegate and was honored to attend the National Republican Convention in 1980 as a youth delegate when the party nominated Ronald Reagan for President.

What exactly are we supposed to negotiate with the psychotic? I'm weary of pretending these people are sane and rational with a different viewpoint because the evidence to support such an assertion is minimal at best.
I'm starting to think Democrats are projecting rationality onto those that have gone over the moon.

92. That is just evil. It's pre-emptive scapegoating.
She's planting or reinforcing the suggestion that if God forbid there is a terrorist attack, the wingnuts will automatically blame Obama, which they are predisposed to do anyway. Funny how it didn't work that way on 9/11...even with their "Godly" president in office, Falwell and Robertson STILL blamed the "decadent" liberals for inviting divine retribution.

So I'd say reinforcing the suggestion is a more accurate description than planting it. The "Obama is a terrorist sympathizer" meme has NOT gone away since the election--if anything, it's become more virulent.

They are inciting to violence and probably doing it on purpose. That is just reprehensible, and that woman needs to be relieved of her position immediately.

Well, all they need to know is that both of them made a fine display to the world of being proud to be racists without being unrepentant.

It's truly a fascinating phenomenon. When Mr. Obama won the election, people are showing their true colors now from the bottom to the top of society. They even pretend that they "aren't racist, but speaking the truth". It is all a sad irony on such a watershed moment in time.

The sad thing is, I don't expect this type of behavior from some quarters in America to end any time soon.

96. That article reminds me of a hilarious comic about how Obama was a secret muslim terrorist
Unfortunately I couldn't find the comic with a quick google search for it. But it really mocked the whole "Obama is a secret Muslim terrorist who wants to destroy America" thing well.

In the comic it had a kid Obama being raised by a bunch of Muslim terrorists. In one panel they were telling a young Obama (looking like he was in elementary school) stuff like "you must go to a christian church in order to appear to be just another American, so that one day you can become president for us so we can destroy America".

It had a few other panels to of them telling Obama to do certain things to hide his relationships with them and get elected president, but I can't really remember the rest of it.
