Chuck Schumer for DNC chair?
I think he would be the best choice. Especially given his work with the DSCC over the last two elections.

1. I'd prefer Joe Trippi.
To carry on the ideals of Howard Dean.

37. I'll triple that barf
Trippi thinks of Trippi first - we need a person who thinks of the Party first and not their own ego.

3. Not really feeling it.
I'd like to see someone coming out of the grassroots take over and continue the bottom up philosophy.

Schumer does not strike me as that.

6. You don't have to leave the Senate to be DNC chair.
I believe Chris Dodd held the position during the Clinton administration.

7. Why not
Joe the Plumber.

Schumer gives me the creeps. We can thank him for the lousy Dem candidate in Kentucky this fall, and for Atty. Gen. Mukasey, too.

Feh.

No way in hell he would do that.
We need a grass roots individual for the job. Not sure who that is but it definetly is NOT Schumer.

21. Oops, I should've thought of that. I meant to say he wouldn't be a good
DNC fit because he wouldn't be grassroots enough but brevity is not always the soul of wit. Sometimes, as in my reply, brevity is pretty ignorant.

My apologies--I agree with you, actually.

23. Not no, but FUCK no!
Two words: Michael Mukrazy.

Sabotaging the senate races wasn't too cool either (i.e. ensuring only DLC candidates were funded)

Schumer is an example of what is WRONG with this party. NOT what we need as a leader.

32. Schumer also vigorously DISCOURAGED senators from joining Alito filibuster.
Behind closed doors, of course, where even some who eventually voted for it PUBLICLY (thanks to Dem activist phonecalls), first worked against it in the Dem caucus.

Schumer is one of the worst enablers of BushInc when the doors are closed.

25. Can't we just clone Howard Dean?
I understand that the good doctor doesn't want the job anymore, but he's the only person that I can think of that understands what it takes. I say we just keep breeding Deans, putting a fresh one in as head of the DNC every four years.

I think he is one of the most under rated politicians out there. He'd make a great spokesman, and he is as smart as they get.

Get someone else like Dean, but with some more fund raising mojo. A great mixture would be excellent. Oh, and someone with as much foresight as Dean, too.

38. Why have a seated Senator at the helm of the National Party?
Paul Tewes has been working with Howard Dean since before the end of the primary season and he believes in Dean's 50-state strategy. Why not have someone who works well w/the incoming President AND will keep the current system in place?
