'cause Obama and his team probably know more than we do what should be done. Its not like they've shown poor decision making, so I just don't get all the consternation. Whether Kerry, Hillary or Richardson gets the SOS, I'll be fine with that. Same with Gates in DoD, etc.

While its fun to whine about our favs not making the all-star team in football, I tend to think the development of a new administration is perhaps a bit more complex and opaque in terms of picking the right person. Whoever Obama picks, I'm sure he'll have his reasons.

A year from now it might make sense to look back and judge the quality of his selections, but I really don't see the value in doing so today. Is Rahm a great choice for Chief of Staff? We'll find out later, same with SOS.

1. I don't care who he chooses. I think the hit pieces from his staff need to stop.
I am speaking of the ones saying Dean is too partisan to be a part of the administration.

I am very partisan now. I just called the Obama DNC which it has been since about June....and I told them if the hits keep coming about Dean and his being too partisan for standing up to Republicans....then we are out real quick.

If that is the route we are going, I will not be along. We will simply become independents.

2. You know, it's really NOT all about YOU, or me, or any of us other
individuals. He got elected. Now he needs to be left alone to get going on his transition. Obama's staffers are entitled to their opinion, and you have got your panties in a wad over what "sources" are saying.

Dean is a great man, but he's NOT the President-elect. Obama is.

4. It is very much about me. I am a Democrat, a partisan one.
I have worked very hard for the party and donated a lot.

When someone uses that "panties in a wad" crap, it means they don't have much else to say.

If we allow someone who stood up and worked for the party to be diminished this way by harmful leaks, then we deserve whatever we get.

I am partisan, I believe we can not become a one-party country.

It sure is becoming ugly here for anyone who defends wha Dean has accomplished. Why is that I wonder?

Yes, Obama is the president elect...a DEMOCRATIC one.

We need to keep reminding him.

3. The success of this administration is just too important to be judged on
this one Cabinet pick. Of course, I don't know but my guess would be that Howard Dean would agree. Don't get me wrong: I love Howard Dean and what he has accomplished. In the Rahm E. - Howard Dean controversy I thought Dean had the better argument.

However, Obama is our president and needs all of our support. Give him a chance to exercise his judgment. There will be plenty of substantive policy decisions of his to dissect later, but now we should stay united behind our president.

5. It is NOT about this cabinet post It is about harmful leaks from his staff
to make Dean look bad and diminish the grassroots.

But whatever....

6. I would still not get too worked up over it.
There is too much else to think about. Obama has earned our trust thus far, IMHO, and I for one will extend that trust to give the man a chance...

8. I am angry that his staff is leaking hit pieces on one of the main reasons for our win.
It needs to stop.

10. OK, fine. I will accept that. But what I was concerned about was your threat to become
an Independent. I didn't think that party switching should be based on that. My opinion only of course.

11. If they don't want partisans in the party, then the party is no longer what I thought.
If they are willing to insult so many Democrats who worked hard for "change"...then they must not need us until the next election.

12. All I can say now (and I am tired) is that I have fought and fought on partisan
territory and I am tired. But mostly, I cannot concede that Obama has defaulted on "change." I know you see it that way but I cannot do that at this time.
