Breaking: Obama phones Harriet Meyers about the SoS position
Sources say Meyers has expressed interest and Obama has long admired her legal skills. Also on his short list are Katherine Harris, who brings her Flordia SoS experience to the table, and the lady who babysits his kids. If worst comes to worst and they all turn him down, there's always that loser John Kerry.

----

Yes, this is sarcasm.

1. I want to be SoS. I have no experience and am a bit young (32) for the job but
I have a college degree, I type fast, I make great tea, and I am not addicted to my blackberry. I think I would rock at this SoS thing. Only problem is the plane thing, I hate flying. Oh well, I guess Richardson, Clinton or Kerry would all be better then me after all. :(

3. Now that would be a real team of rivals. And with a team like that he will need a winner like Kerry
Frankly, I am sick of this Team of Rivals BS. It makes Obama seem like he copies off of others instead of forging a new path.

4. If this is some kind of political kabuki
meant to help the also-rans save face when he finally picks Kerry, I'll be overjoyed, but I don't think it is. Hillary has good reasons to turn it down, since she'd have to give up her Senate seat, but Richardson doesn't.

6. I think Harriet's comments during the primary were divisive and racist.
She should not be SoS. In fact, I am reluctant to accept her being nominated to any position.

8. What kind of grudge bearing hater are you?
Can't you forget about the primaries for half a split second?

9. If I were to forget about them, I'd have no idea who Harriet Myers is.
Her entire record is that hateful speech (and I do believe she was gyrating. you can see it if you look closely enough) and she's stuck with it

10. Get over it already!
The primaries are over. All you're doing is stirring up old shit. Let's forget how horrible she was and give Obama some credit for choosing people he thinks are best for the job.

p.s. this is sarcasm too.

11. Mocking sarcasm, to be precise.
Just so we're on the same page, you're mocking people, you're not actually trying to constructively contribute, you're trying to tear down.

15. At least those of us who know better than to behave that way.
Particularly because we use our real names and don't hide under anonymonity.

Or at least that's how it looks to me. I understand that it might seem otherwise to others.
