Employer: I'm not cutting your pay, I'm just rolling back your raise. |
|
If our employer told us that we would tell him that he is full of crap. It is a paycut.
So what makes anyone think America will buy Dean's "It's not really a tax icrease" story?

middle class.
So yes. I am in the right forum.

2. We're not cutting your pay |
|
We're just taking away free parking and raising your health insurance copay.
Hey, and were gonna give you this lovely raise, in fact, that just happens to fall about 10% short of the cost of downtown parking and your health insurance increase.
Any questions?
What are you complaining about. You got a raise 2% over the national average!
I think Americans are smarter than you think.

4. America needs to learn a few things |
|
Like, to actually think instead of to be led by automatic triggered reactions to slogans.
The fact that "Tax Inrease" is a curse-phrase in the American vernacular is one of the greatest successes of the fascist corporate propaganda.
I would support a candidate that would advocate tax increases parallel to expansion of social programs and cuts in the military in a split second.

6. Hey, we're giving you a raise! |
|
And your children will be contractually obligated to pay for it when THEY start working.
How is that?

8. Let's see. If I was running Dean's campaign, I'd keep options open. |

You can always go here............"When I said that all the tax cuts should be rolled back, it was with the belief, supported by many economists, that employment in the United States would have made a substantial improvement and we would be able to turn our efforts to health insurance for every American.
However, it now appears that the employment picture in the United States is in a much more critical state than anyone had previously predicted. Even I couldn't have imagined a scenario whereby President Bush, rather than creating 3 million jobs would lose 3 million jobs; a difference of 6 million jobs. Therefore, it has become apparent that the middle class tax cuts need to stay in place for people earning between x and y. In addition, we will do _______________ for middle and lower income families. Those with the highest incomes, $330,000 and up, have benefited greatly over the past three years and at this time of crisis, we need them to shoulder more responsibility." Blah. blah, blah.

9. You give me five dollars for a dozen apples and I'll give you five oranges |

Stopping a tax cut that has yet to be implemented is not the same thing as taking back a raise you already received. If you normally receive a raise every January but this year I don't give it to you is it a pay cut? You haven't received it yet so how could I cut it? If you believe the stuff from the right you will believe anything.
