Leak Wars shows that Obama Team is facing reality of Business as Usual in D.C |
|
No Drama Obama is NOT the modus operandi in Washington politics. Leaking and counter leaking to test the waters of public opinion, to shape policy and covertly execute political strategy is high art in Washington D.C. In D.C. the clutch of reporters and pundits to whom one can safely leak is part of your value and your job security.
It may be naive to imagine that the new Obama transition bureaucracy which consist largely of former Clinton administration personnel would carry out their jobs without the tool of the strategic leak in their arsenal.
And once one faction of the “Transition” leaks for its strategic purposes, the other faction has to counter leak or loose. And so it goes.
While disappointing to some of us, the fact that the core Obama circle is now accepting the of widespread use of leaks suggests that reality has dawned and at least 1 knee is bent to business as usual in Washington.

4. The FBI is investigating way more people now |
|
during the VP watch, the FBI probably seriously vetted no more than 5 candidates. Now their vetting multiple candidates for many positions. that's a lot of co-workers, associates, friends, family members that are being asked questions. It should be of no surprise that some of them are calling the press to say "hey, the FBI just asked me about ____ for ____ agency!"

8. Bill, Hill and their supporters could leak til the end and I still |
|
would not hire as SOS. This shows that it is all about them and they are trying to force Obama to choose Hillary. I hope he does not choose her because of pressure to do so. He should have offered her another job like the one that Dascle ended up with........
