TIME mag rounding numbers to Jr's advantage?
Edited on Sat Sep-11-04 12:35 PM by shockingelk
(on edit: the impression they're giving is the GOP convention gave Bush a boost. Lower pre-convention numbers for Bush are good for that impression)

Compare the numbers reported in TIME to how the same results are reported at pollingreport.com. Are they rounding numbers differently?

3. Time Magazine
has been right-wing since it's founding. Their polls cannot be trusted.

5. The did break some news damaging to Jr.
Something regarding Valarie Plame comes to mind ...

I'm predicting that the media will soon concentrate the impression Kerry is gaining until he4 has a "slight advantage" and in the last two weeks before the election make it "anybody's call".

Future headlines:

"Is Kerry the comeback kid?"
"Race tied as election looms"
"Next JFK?"
"A week before historic election, all bets are off"

They will use the trend when necessary.
A comparison to previous elections when necessary.
A poll snapshot in time when necessary.
Tossup states when necessary.
National polls when necessary.

Now we're in the "Bush comeback sticks" phase, and they're using the national numbers because if they used tossup states, it would be a slight Kerry advantage.

It's just necessary that the media gets top dollars from advertisers.

7. No, adventageous for the impression
They are concentrating on the impression that the GOP convention really gave Bush a boost.

Had they used 47% instead of 46% for 8/24 - 8/26/04, they wouldn't have been able to report as large a "bounce", etc.
