CHICAGO, Nov 24 (Reuters) - U.S. President-elect Barack Obama will hold a news conference at 1100 a.m. Central time (12:00 p.m. EST/1700 GMT) on Tuesday, his office said in a statement.

8. The markets seem to like his message up nearly 400 today
Maybe he should speak everyday if that works.

He could talk us out of the economic crisis.

9. Odd Because Obama Was Not Mr. Happy News - "Economy Is Likely To Get Worse"
I thought it was ironic that DOW continued to finish up nearly 400 points even though Obama was being such a killjoy about the economy. Obama rattling off some of the current economic statistics was depressing. Of course, if it was Bush, Bush would say something along the lines of "freedom is winning."

10. Maybe they like the fact that he is honest or...
They like his picks for advisers.

Maybe its just his charisma.

11. I found Obama's candor *more* reassuring than if he had simply said everything was going to be great

Bush would always talk to everyone as though they were idiots for questioning him or his plan for the country. He talked down to us like we were children. Today, I felt like Obama was talking to me like one adult to another. I believed him.

12. He Sounded Very Matter of Fact, Which Was Reassuring and Depressing At The Same Time
I did not exactly feel happy listening to his speech, which is why I am surprised that the DOW went up. Yet, I did get the sense that Obama had a clear idea of where he wanted to go, and how he planned to get there. The big difference between Bush and Obama is that Bush always seemed to be reading off a script prepared by Rove/Cheney and company, and that Bush believed what he was saying even though he did not understand it. Obama, on the other hand, sounds like a guy who has a better understanding then he is letting on, but is holding back so that he does not step on the opinions of those who are advising him.
